Description
Building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, is essential for project success. This involves understanding the team environment, developing effective working relationships with your team members, subject matter experts and governance groups which supports the successful delivery of project outcomes. their needs, addressing concerns, and keeping them informed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Five or more years experience in leading large programs of work within defined frameworks to achieve change outcomes and benefits across multidisciplinary teams and locations, preferably in the health sector.
- Proven experience in the effective governance, assurance, benefits management, lessons learned, change management and performance management that contributes to the overall achievement of large projects.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the coordination and provision of advice, within a large complex environment, including the proven ability to critically analyze and integrate information from many sources.
- Highly developed organizational skills and experience in proactively identifying, analyzing problems, and resolving issues by implementing remedial strategies, thereby using initiative and responsibility to achieve project outcomes within required timelines.
- Proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members, subject matter experts and governance groups which supports the successful delivery of project outcomes.
- Highly developed consultation and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to proactively and effectively engage, negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding issues of significant impact to the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including demonstrable experience in the development of complex submissions such as concept briefs, business cases, complex briefing notes and submissions and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership capabilities
- Proven ability as a leader in a diverse and complex scientific/health services organization, with demonstrable experience in service planning, professional standard development, and policy change.
- Proven track record of building effective working relationships with executive team members and peers who are not in the line of command and that positively impact business performance.
- Proven ability to manage resources and programs effectively, efficiently, and ethically.
- Expert interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and the demonstrated ability to foster effective and productive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to support staff through significant organizational change, ensuring at the same time that they remain focused on delivering on their core duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Although not mandatory, qualifications in project management, public sector management or equivalent are desirable.
- Travel may be a requirement of this role and the ability to operate a class C vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement is highly desirable. Some intrastate and interstate travel may also be required.
