This role is a senior level clinician who is responsible for:

  • The provision of high-level specialist mental health assessment and intervention.
  • Providing leadership, operational management and clinical line management to a team of clinical staff; including management of performance issues and performance enhancement and development in line with the organizational structure.
  • The provision of discipline-specific professional supervision to staff as required.

What we are seeking:

  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skills in clinical assessment and intervention within the current legislative and policy context of a Mental Health Service. Carry out the roles and responsibilities as, or working towards becoming, an Authorized Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) as required under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize high level interpersonal skills in the ability to actively participate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational management and supervision of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize an ethical decision-making framework to make sound clinical decisions in complex situations and to identify professional issues that need to be highlighted to senior staff for further action.

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification, registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate are mandatory requirements.
  • Possession of or working towards relevant post-graduate qualifications is an expectation for highly regarded applications.
  • Authorized Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) status as per the Mental Health Act 2016, or working toward the same, would be highly desirable.
  • The position may involve travel to various facilities or units within the North West Hospital and Health Service.
  • Class C motor vehicle license.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role.

What's on offer?

Temporary full-time role up to 28.07.2024

  • salary range between $4933.10 to $5355.90 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
